Payment By Check - Donations may be made by check payable to SOAR. Please mail to P.O. Box 178 Everett, PA 15537.
- Change your online shopping into support for SOAR. When you register and shop through iGive, a percentage of your purchases will be donated to SOAR. You can support SOAR by shopping online for brand-name gifts or everyday items at over 650 well-known online stores. In addition, you'll get free deals and coupons just by being an iGive.com member. When you register and shop through iGive within 45 days, iGive.com will instantly donate $5 to SOAR. Just go to http://www.igive.com for the holidays, birthdays, or everyday purchases.
How It Works
Join iGive to support SOAR. It's FREE, private and easy.
Shop the Mall at iGive.com. You'll see familiar stores like Land's End, Office Depot, JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, Expedia, Barnes & Noble, and eBay to mention a few. Want to shop at Barnes & Noble AND make money for PPC? All you have to do is go to the iGive Online Mall, click the link for Barnes & Noble, and shop away! A percentage of your purchase will automatically be donated to PPC.
Watch the $$ roll in for SOAR! Up to 26% of each purchase, depending on the store, gets donated. Donations take a couple weeks to show up in your shopping total. Check it often to see how much money you've earned for SOAR!
The hardest thing about using iGive is to remember to go to iGive first, rather than directly to the store you want. I've never had a problem with a donation; they show up within a few weeks after shopping. Not all stores participate (Amazon.com, for example), but if you want books you can use Barnes & Noble instead...One thing that's mildly annoying are the e-mails from iGive. You can opt out of them once you're a member (under "Newsletter Subscriptions") but sometimes the e-mails contain special discount offers, so I didn't opt out...Using iGive has actually introduced me to cool stores that I wouldn't have heard of otherwise. For example, Abundant Earth sells environmentally friendly items, including items made from recycled materials. iGive is great for gifts too!

Download a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article that includes an interview with Neal Buterbaugh, a Bedford County resident, and SOAR members.
An excerpt: "BEDFORD, Pa. -- As a child, Neal Buterbaugh rode horses along the dirt roads of Dutch Corner, a basin of farmland in the crook of Evitts Mountain. With its glittering creeks, weatherbeaten barns and emerald hillsides dotted with livestock, Dutch Corner exists much as it did 100 years ago, said Mr. Buterbaugh, a semi-retired builder. "They like the seclusion," he said of its people. "The unchanged atmosphere." These days, however, some 21st-century changes might be in store for Dutch Corner and other areas of Bedford County. Developers are scouting the ridge tops with an eye toward building wind turbines, towering three-bladed machines which capture the wind's kinetic energy, ultimately converting it into electricity." |
