FORESTED MOUNTAINS ARE NOT THE RIGHT PLACE FOR INDUSTRIAL WIND TURBINES. Power companies and speculators are trying to industrialize our mountains and ridgetops. If they are successful, Bedford County will be dramatically changed. When wind turbines are installed, trees have to be cut down and mountaintops bulldozed to create service roads and large flat construction sites. Approximately three acres of forest and wildlife habitat will be sacrificed for each turbine. Once installed, these monsters will dominate the landscape while altering scenic vistas and wildlife habitat forever.
